Frequently Asked Questions
Materials, sizing, color, shipping and returns.
What if it shows up damaged?
Email help@museumarchive.shop and I'll make it right.
What is your return policy?
Every print is made to order so all sales are final. If something arrives damaged or wrong, that's a different story — see above.
How long until it arrives?
Prints are made to order, so figure 5 to 8 business days to produce and ship, plus delivery time on top of that.
Why are your prices so low?
I mark everything up 20% over cost, flat. No inflating larger sizes even though I know they're more desirable. I'm not trying to maximize profit, I'm trying to get more people to have art on their walls.
Can I actually see the brushstrokes or does it look like a poster?
You can see the brushstrokes. That's kind of the whole point. The paper and print quality are good enough that it doesn't look like something you'd pull off a drugstore shelf.
Why does the same piece come in some sizes but not others?
Every size has to meet a minimum quality threshold. If a piece can't be reproduced at a certain size without losing detail, I just don't offer it at that size. I'd rather you get less wall coverage than a print that doesn't do the original justice.
Where do the images come from?
Directly from the museums. The Art Institute of Chicago publishes high resolution images of their entire collection online. That's what we print from.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet, but if you're outside the US and want a print, reach out at help@museumarchive.shop. I'd love to expand and it helps to know there's interest.
